The first and second families descended from Edmund and Robert Lockwood who came to Massachusetts with Gov. Winthrop's fleet, 10 years after the Mayflower. Their descendants scattered all over the US . The third family descended from Abraham Lockwood came from in England to Rhode Island. Your family most likely is related to the fourth Lockwood family descended from Richard Lockwood who apparently came to Maryland from England.
