Bernie Boylan. Please note my E Mail address is rlockman@att.net in case you would like to contact me directly. Abram Lockman: Abram homesteaded land in Isabella county. His grant was dated 1 March 1877. Area was 85.82 acres. You can look at the documents under www.blm-ES,GLO records-home. click on search. Frederick Hotrum Lockman (my Great Grandfather) was in the 9th Michigan Calvary.I have reviewed his service record and his pension file when in Washington many years ago. There were a large number of Lockman men from our family in Wisconsin in the Civil war. I have the data on most of them. I dont think we are related to the Lacquerments of Staten Island. Some years ago I thought we must be because the boys names are the same, but I talked with the lady who wrote the book on their family and shwe indicated that we could not be. Of course she could be wrong and I hope you are right. I tried and tried to get a match but our family does not fit in anywhere I can find. The Carolina Lockmans are descended from a Scottish seaman who jumped ship in the early 1700's. Many of these now live in New Jersey. There are also Irish Lockmans in New Jersey, Mostly Iron miners in the early 1800's. Would appreciate if you could send me any data on Abram, both 1st and second marriage. when I get a chance I will try and run thew 1870 and 1880 census. Regards Richard Lockman
