Hi I have some questions about those letters between Lockhars and Tottens that you told me about. I tried to find the letters in the TN arhvies and the lady there couldn't find them. Can you give me more information on where I can find these letters.
I still trying to figure the William Lockhart's of Russell/Tazewell co Virginia. William in 1790- 1799 Russell county Virginia personal property tax list and land tax list I believe to be Andrew's brother (no proof, there was a William with Andrew in Fincastle County in 1773 Delinquent tax list and again in Montgomery county in the Virginia Tax Payers 1782-87 (there actually two Williams list for Montgomery and one listed for Augusta county). So I'm assumping that the William Lockhart Jr that shows up in the Russell county 1790-1799 is the son of the William Lockhart that I believe is Andrew brother. I don't see my William any where except in as listed in Andrew Will and in the courts record of selling Andrew's land in the 1820/30's and in the Tazewell Deeds mentioning places of Residence other than Tazewell county and that was in 1817 Lockhart Wm & Jane in Russell county Tax-Deed 2-463.
So my question is does anyone have any information on William, all I have at this point is that William is the son of Andrew(the will), that he married Jane ?(the Tazewell Deed mentioning places of Residence other than Tazewell)and had they had John Henry Lockhart in 1807 no proof
