Here is what I know about Bird Lockhart. We have from my family records that Bird was born about 1795 in Russell Co. Va. He either left Dicey or divorced her sometimes before Jan. 21, 1833. He married Jane Staten on Jan. 21, 1833 in Pike Co. Ky. He died on April 15, 1851 in what is now McDowell Co. WV. He is buried in the Collins Cemetery at Longpole Hollow near Iaeger, WV. I descend from his son William Lockhart, of which I have a photo. I am fairly certain his father was one of the William Lockhart from Russell Co. Va. As for the Tottens I don't know anything about that line. Bird is located in the 1850 Wyoming Co. Va census reoord, in the 1840 Logan Co. Va census records. The e that was recordedin the census record had to be a error because I am certain his name was Bird because when he and Jane were married he signed his name on the marriage bond.
