Here is more information on Francis Locke, md.Jane Prescott Gaddis, and his heirs.
The State of Alabama, Coosa County, Book 3 Orphans Court, page 65, 1846-1855.
Orphans Court Special Term, May 26th, A.D. 1847
This day came John Gaddis administrator of Francis Locke, deceased and makes application for an order of sale of the following real Estate belonging to said Estate towit.
The SW 1/4th of Section 14, Township 23, Range 20 in the Tallapoosa Land district agreeable to the prayer of his petition filed at a term of this court held on the 4th (or 14th) day of april A.D. 1847, and it appearing to the satisfation of the court that citations have issued to the hiers of full age and also to John A. Graham, Guardian adlitem for the minor heirs of the said estate (begging?requiring?) them to be and appear at this term of court and show cause why the prayer of petitioner should not be granted.. and no one having appeared to contest in the premises and despotitions having been filed showing that said tract of land cannot be fairly, equally and beneficially divided amongst the heirs of said Estate without a sale there of..It is therefore ordained and decreed by the Court that said administrator have leave to make sale of said discribed tract of land on a credit of not less than six months to the highest bidder after first having given at least thirty days notice of the time and place thereof and notice stuck up at the Court house door, and three or more public places in said County.
It is further ordered that said said administrator make return of the account of said sale to this Court within three calendar months from date.

The State of Alabama, Coosa Co., Orphans Court Vacation August 14th A.D. 1848. Page 116-1846-1855 Book 3.
This day came John Gaddis, administrator of the Estate of Francis Locke deceased, and reports to the Court that since the decree of our said Orphan's Court for distribution of the Estate amongst the heirs thereof, had on the 3rd day of July last part, George Locke, one of the heirs of distributee has departed this life., And asks leave of the Court to discharge and pay off all expenses incurred, during the last sickness of said George and make distribution of the residue equally amongst the lawful heirs of the said George Locke, deceased..which is hereby Granted.
It is therefore ordered that said John Gaddis, adm. make such distribution and report the same to this court within three months from date thereof. Witness Ebenezer Pond (either I or Jccc)
The State of Alabama, Coosa Co. Book 3, page 116, bottom of page of above record. Orphans Court Vacation Aug 14th A.D. 1848.
This day came Robert L. Lauderdale and makes application for Letters of Guardianship over the person and property of Sarah Locke, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the said Sarah is over the age of fourteen years and that she makes choice of said Robert L. it is therefore considered by the Court that Letters of Guardianship issue in favor of the said Robert L. Lauderdale, over the person and property of the said Sarah Locke, he having given approved bond in double the amount of her distributive share of her father's estate, Francis Locke, Dec'd.
It is further ordered that said Guardian make return of any property of his said Ward's estate to this court within three calendar months from the date hereof, Witness, Ebenezer. Pond (I or Jcccc)
Note: Robert L. Lauderdale was brother in law to Sarah.
