Lock family in London, England
I am looking for my great grandfather, William Lock, a carpenter
living in London, England, in 1859 to 1868.He married Jane
Hooper in Marylebone Parish Church 10 Dec 1859 and my
grandmother Beatrice Lock was born in 1868.According to family
lore she had at least one sister and one brother, who were
probably older.
William's marriage certificate gives his father as Joseph Lock,
also a carpenter.Unfortunately William was "of full
age" so I have no idea of his date of birth.I would put this
at around 1830 because his wife was born in 1830 which makes her
already 29 when they married.Family lore has it that he was a
stage carpenter at Covent Garden but I don't know how much
truth there is in this.

Beatrice's birth certificate gives the street address in 1868 in
Marylebone, Middlesex, but I have been unable to locate them in
either the 1861 or 1871 census records so I have no idea
where he came from. Both William and his wife may actually have
died before the 1871 census. They certainly disappeared when
Beatrice was very young because she was raised by an aunt and by
1881 she was living in Somerset with her mother's family.

If anyone has run across any London Locks I'd be delighted
to hear about it.
