So, we are in fact cousins, quite a few times removed! I am in the process of "proving" that Lt. George Locke, killed near Charlotte in September, 1780, was in fact the son of Gen. Matthew. He left a 3 year old son, Alexander, whom I am trying to "prove" was the son of George and grandson of Matthew. This is to complete my daughter's DAR application, as SAR accepted what I had for membership for me, my 3 sons and grandson. I have collected what I think will satisfy the DAR, e.g. "General Joseph Graham and His Papers on North Carolina Revolutionary History" states on page 255: "On this day we lost Lieut. Geo. Locke (son of Gen. Matt. Locke), who was literally cut to pieces in a most barbarous manner." My email is montana419@hotmail.com if you would like to stay in touch.
