Thank you for your reply, Clint. You are correct about your DAR information. The message, "Future applicants must prove this child" refers to some early members who joined with a child whose name cannot be verified. At this time, we cannot find documented evidence that this child belongs to Col. Francis Locke. In the early years, documented proof was not required and some women joined based on family stories. That could be the case here.

There were three prominent Francis Lockes at the same time with confusion over which one was which. Hopefully, my application to prove descent from Col. Francis, which is currently under study, will be accepted and we can start honoring him with his rightful descendants.
