This info was incredibly hard to sort through, so I'm posting it for others. It concerns a Margaret R. LOCKE buried in Circleville Cemetery, Jackson Co. KS

Guy McComas b. 1836 Cabell Co VA was the son of Hiram McComas, a son of Moses McComas. Hiram McComas was the brother to the Sanders W. 'S.W.' McComas, mentioned as one of the earliest settlers to Jackson County, KS. Hiram McComas died Jan 1849 in Platte Co. MO where Sanders W McComas had also lived prior to moving into early Jackson County.

Guy McComas b. 1836 (son of Sanders now deceased brother Hiram)-- married Margaret Lanter on 25 Feb 1858. I do not know if that marriage was in Jackson County. She was the daughter of Thomas Lanter and Spicey Davis who were married 3 Mar 1818 in Madison, KY. I do not know if Guy McComas and Margaret Lanter had any children together. (If anyone knows, please email me back.) Guy McComas must have died (anyone know when or where?)

The now Margaret (Lanter) McComas went on to marry 2nd: Dewitt Clinton Locke on 7 Nov 1861 in Jackson Co., KS. Margaret (Lanter) McComas and Dewitt Clinton Locke had 4 children together:
Hattie Locke b 30 Aug 1862 d. 27 Apr 1867 Buried Circleville Cem, Jackson Co KS
Sidney E. Locke bca 1863 d. 13 Mar 1867 Buried Circleville Cem.
William 'Willie' E. Locke bca 1869 d. 10 May 1909 Buried Holton Cem. Jackson Co. KS
Lizzie M. Locke bca. 1871 KS

DeWitt Clinton Locke has a lengthy biosketch I posted on Rootsweb. He was elected to the Kansas State Legislature 1868, serving one term.

Margaret (Lanter) (McComas) Locke died 1873. Buried in Circleville cem, Jackson Co. KS along w/ some of the children. Her husband Dewitt Clinton Locke went on to marry again Betty R LEWIS, daughter of N.D. Lewis, (another very early Jackson Co settler) in 1875 and have more children.
