Today I found a old photograph with the name of Ulysses R Lockard, Columbia PA on the back. It is a young boy under the age of 4 in a frilly smock and I estimate teh date of the photo to be the late 1890's. The photographer Stamp on front says "Pannebecker" Nanticoke, PA. If you can connect to him and want the photo, I only ask reimbursement of what I paid for it and the cost of shipping in the photo envelope to protect it. I did a search on Ancestry and found a WWI registration records for Ulysses Roy Lockard born 26 July 1892 in PA.Ancestry has its images linked wrong again adn I can not access the correct record to see the other information there. As the SS index does not show anything either I am wondering if Ulysses R did not die in WWI. I have not been able to pinpoint who his father was. As the Photo said Columbia on back I tried there first. I would guess strongly that he connects to this family. It also gave me a 1870 Columbia, Lancaster Co , PA census Lockard John C 42 engineer @ furnace Margaret 42 keep house Siloam 20 seamstress Sarah 16 no occupation Emma F 18 " " John 12 at school Samuel 9 " " Anna Mary 7 " " Ulysses 3 at home 1880 East Marietta, Lancaster Co PA Lochard, John C 52 Engineer Margaret 52 Keep House John B 22 Laborer Samuel H 20 at Home Ulysses S 13 " " (b 1867) Perhaps Ulysses R's father ? Clara B 9 By 1900 East Donegal, Lancaster PA Locert, John C w m born July 1827 age 72 Widower As no Ulysses R shows up in the 1900 and he would now be 7-8 yrs old I assume there was a move. prior to the photo being taken. A search of Nanticoke, Luzerne, Co PA shows no matches. It is possible that the photographer moved from Nanticoke to Lancaster Co and continued to use up his old photoboards until his new ones arrived. It was a common practice.
