The family of Loch here in Australia has a family history book published in 1934 which researches back to the Royal Forest of Dean in the 1100's?...the family was then La Lega or Lacu..somewhere around 1400 the use of the name de Lacu had changed to de Loch (de Loche, de Lough, de Louche) and in the last half of the 15th century the Family migrated, almost to a man, to Edinburgh.
