Loch Family Genealogy Forum

Greetings,
You mentioned that there was another Loch family that came to America. That family is mine. I found some records however in Rhineland-Palatinate region that mention a Johann Peter Loch and was wondering if we could be related (in Germany). My ancestor was Jacob Loch.
There is also information on the possible siblings of Jacob Loch. Jacob and Anna Sybilla are mentioned in the baptism records of the Fischback, Oldenburg Parish in Germany. The names include Johannes Peter Loch and wife Johanna (Anna) Elizabetha (sister of Anna Julianna) in 1722. Peter and Johanna Elizabetha baptized children: Johan Peter in 1712 (page 144), Maria Julianna in 1713 (page 149), Elizabeth Catharine in 1720 (page 181), a child in 1722 (page 189), Johanna undated (page 198), and Maria Elizabeth in 1725 (page 206). Other family members also listed were: Anna Julianna (the mothers sister) as a sponsor in 1713 for Maria Julianna, Johannes Loch (the fathers brother in 1722) as well as Anna Sybilla Loch (wife of Jacob Loch) in 1722, and Johannes Carol in 1725.23
Also in this church register are Johannes Otto Loch and his wife Elizabetha Margareta baptizing children: Elizabeth Margareta in 1734; Maria Catherina in 1736 (with Johannes Loch as a sponsor); John Nichol in 1733, and Maria Margaretha in 1731.24 John Peter Loch was probably a brother of Jacob Loch, and Johannes Otto could have been a younger brother or even a son of Peter. The baptismal records for Jacob and his wives were not found. However the records were in Gothic German and extremely difficult to read, even for the experts.
