Back in the 1600s-1700s my LOTE family resided in the parish of Aldridge, Staffordshire where their family name was recorded as LOACH in the parish register. This continued until the mid 1700s when it was abruptly changed to LOTE.

Why it changed I do not know, only that perhaps it may have always been LOTE but incorrectly recorded as LOACH in the parish records.

I have documentation re my husband's direct ancestor, who was recorded as William LOACH alias LOTE.

Is anyone else out there connected to this family? I have a large database of all LOTE/LOACHs born in and around the village of Aldridge.
