Can anyone help connect this Lloyd line (SC, NJ, PA?) to the Lloyds of Dolobran? This account does not make a clear connection to Thomas Lloyd b. 1640-1694 at Dolobran. There appears to be at least two unknown generations between Thomas Lloyd b. 1640 and William Lloyd b. ca. 1730.
..." FRANCIS G. LLOYD was born in Keyport, New Jersey, May 26th, 1848; son of Henry Trusler Lloyd (b. 1781, Charleston, SC). His great-grandfather, William Lloyd (ca. 1730-1761), was a successful merchant in Charleston, South Carolina. This ancient family was established in Montgomeryshire, England about the middle of the sixth century. Thomas Lloyd, born at Dolobran, Montgomeryshire, April 17th 1540, joined William Penn in the colonization of Pennsylvania."
