I believe you are inquiring about Rev. John Livingston 1603-1672. He was married to Janet Fleming. He administer the oath to Prince Charles (King Charles II) in Amsterdam. When King Charles II became King, he immediate forgot his promises to the Scottish people. Rev. John refused to render him homage and had to go into exile in Amsterdam where he died.
