Dear Linda, Your message has brought tears to my eyes!!!! After months of fruitless searching, I feel as though I've been in a desert and you've brought water! My mother was quite ill when she began searching to confirm and expand the family information she had, and her mind was not sharp due to a lot of medication. Unfortunately, she left confusing notes with some outright incorrect information. I have already once requested my grandfather's birth certificate (at a cost of $15), and the information was incorrect (she showed him being born in Oban). She had notes about contacting Angus, but did not also note his contact information, so I had nothing to go on and found that to be a dead end. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! How wonderful to connect with you and your wealth of information!!! You are absolutely correct in all you recollections. My grandmother (Donald's wife) was deaf, although the cause of that is still unknown. My mother told me it was from scarlett fever at 16, but my father didn't recall that being the reason. My Grandmother's name was Jean, and my mother's name was Gloria (you are right on all that!) My mother did come to the U.S., by way of Canada, in the late 50's (around '59), married and settled here. I live in California, where she had met my father (on a trip to the historic San Francisco). I am so glad to hear that Angus is still alive!! And what a blessing that you've had so much contact with your family! I would love to talk to you more. My direct email address is sillyshopper@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you and telling you what some of my mother's notes say....I'm sure you'll find them amusing! Best regards! Christina Notify Administrator about this message?
