Dear Christina,
I have already answered you after reading your enquiry to someone else in the forum. I think this should get to you better because I'm sure you check it regularly. it was by pure chance I read your message about Hugh Livingstone...it's really a small world.
Hugh Livingstone and Jean Macphee were my grandparents. I only met my grandmother and even if I can't remember her, I have several 'photos of myself with her as a child.
Your grandfather was my uncle. He left Scotland, Fuinary in the Morvern peninsula when my father, his youngest brother, was about five (1926 circa)and they only met once again when Donald (Donnie)returned with his wife in his old age. My mother told me about their visit, your Grandmother had hearing problems, is that possible?
I knew Donnie had a daughter called Gloria and I was led to believe she married and lived in the United States, is that true?
Donald had quite a large family at home...at least four brothers (Duncan, Hugh, Angus, Alan) who were still alive when he left, and one sister, Mary, who was always called Myra. She kept in touch with all her brothers until her death in about 1960. I'm sure your Grandfather kept in touch with his brother Angus who is still alive and living in Greenock!
I'm afraid I don't know the names of my great grandparents, but my grandmother is buried in Drimnin graveyard in the Morvern peninsula with many of her sisters and a couple of her children.
Christina was one of her sisters who died young and was loved very much by all her family, my greataunts often talked about her to my Mum.
I hope you will be as thrilled as I was to discover a relative I didn't even know existed! I'd love to hear from you again...as I'm sure would my nephew who loves to trace the family history!
Bye for now
Linda Jean Livingstone Olivieri
