Her son Adam Smelley died May 6, 1912, according to the John Calvin Smelley family bible (Laura's in-laws).I just received that information from Doug Matson, who got it from Bob Morrison who has the Bible.
Laura's death is recorded May ??, 1912.It had been written "4" and then scratched out. Before the word "May" someone had written "April" and then scratched out.

Before the word "May" someone had written "April" and then scratched out. They probably boarded the train in April.I wonder how long the trip took.Seems like I heard it was two weeks, though that seems a bit long even for those days??Maybe they didn't get a direct train, maybe plenty of stops.Maybe they got off occasionally to rest up or see a doctor (since they were ill).Or maybe I'm just wrong about that.
