Thank you for your response to my posting. Their are many German speaking Swiss in Alsace. But that Alsace-Lorraine was originally a French province but over years of battles between French and Germans that region has went back and forth between the two countries.For example, I have a friend that lives in that region and she speaks five languages and she uses them on a daily bases just in the little area she is at.I got an e-mail a while back tell me about the Lowenguts or Livengoods coming first to New York and only one Jacob Livengood migrated to Pennsylvania from what I gather. The others were killed by the local native indians of northern New York.
