My ex-wife's grandfather (and greatgrandpa to four of my children) was John E. Littlewood (the Cambridge mathematician), who was born 9 June 1885 in Rochester, Kent, England, and died in Cambridge, England 6 Sept. 1977. I have his parents, but would like to trace the family back further, if anyone has any information. His father was Edward Thornton Littlewood, b. 24 May 1859 in Liverpool, England, and d. 29 Nov. 1941. His mother was Sylvia Maud Ackland, b. 1858 in Bideford, Devon, England. They were married in September 1884 in Bideford.
