I say the other night but it was actually last week here, on Custers Last Stand? Think it was on the The Learning Channel. They hired a bunch of Professionals to go over the 600 some odd acres near where the battle took place and they uncovered all sorts of Really Interesting stuff about the battle. I was in shock that they could determine so much from so little.
If you didn't see it, keep your eyes peeled, or perhaps the TLC has a bit about it on their website. If it wasn't The Learning Channel it was the Discovery Channel...one of the two.
It was a Great show...come to find out, there was no "Last Stand" so to speak. The Indians completely Swamped the men and the men were trying to retreat. Instead of standing on "the hill", they found out that they were actually retreating to a river area or stream bed below.
The Indians just out numbered them...but that wasn't new info.
