Brandi,

I also have that same story in my family about a guide that advised General Custer to not go to Little Big Horn. According to Family Tree Maker's Genealogy site info. His name was Felix Sanguinet and helped his friend Joseph Robidoux, Jr. settle St. Joseph, MO Joseph also named a street after Felix in St. Joseph, MO. He was said to have married an Indian woman. Felix's father is Christopher, Christopher's father is Charles (born in Canada) and Charles' father is Simon (born in France). Brandi, let me know if any of this sounds familiar. Maybe we are related.
My mother is a Sanguinet.

Sincerely,

Susan Farrar
