Civilian Non-Indian Scouts with Major Reno

Help! My great-great grandfather, Benjamin "Frank" Martin has written letters that he was with Reno the day b/4 the big massacre and he got wounded badly and lay under a tree for 2 days b/4 rescue. Can anyone check their Little Big Horn books to see if he is listed in them either under Frank or Benjamin. My uncle says he found a photo of Reno and Benjamin together, but cannot find the book. Thanks, Jean
