My name is Steve Litteral jr, I live in Rockford, IL. so does my father, but he is originally from Huntington, WV. My granpas name is Millard H. Litteral Jr.(B 1929) he lived in Cabin Creek, WV. but is now in Columbus, OH. His father M.H. Litteral Sr.(B 1893) is from Van Lear, KY. and he was killed in a coal mine in Cabin Creek in Apr. 1946.his wife was Elizabeth Thompson. My GGgrandpa is named James Litteral and all I know is that he was a coal miner as well. I don't know his fathers name, but he is supposedly from Ireland, and came here during the Famine in the 1850's. But cant be positive. Im also getting conflicting reports about the origin of the surname. I heard from one source that the name is from Norman origin, and it was first recorded in Yorkshire, England in the 11th and 12th Century. I don't know if they later moved to Ireland or what. If anyone could help me, I would be grateful. My e-mail is stevelitteraljr@aol.com
