Yes, some manifests are misfiled, or missing.Usually when I find that the image does not match the text info on a passenger, I make note of the correct ship's name, port of departure, and arrival date, as well as the line # for the passenger, AND the name of the passenger on line #1.This last item makes it easier to scan images for the right one, without scrolling the whole page.
Then I go to the Steve Morse web site and click on Ships List, enter in a range of days for dates, about 10 days worth, and the other info, ship's name, and port, click search, and select the ship from the list that comes up.Then you can scan the images of the manifests by clicking on the +1 option to view the next image. If you find it, make sure you note the numbers where, I think it is Series/Roll. Be careful not to hit your backspace button, as that will exit you from the page and you have to start over, to go back hit -1 option.
As for the name with the H, I'm guessing it is your last name Karpowich? It is spelled today as Karpovic^ius for males, female spellings are different, and this is where it gets peculiar, because with this name I have seen Karpovic^ as the spelling for both married and single females.Whereas with the name KarpAvic^ius (note the A instead of the O), Mrs would be Karpavic^iene, and Miss would be Karpavic^iute. This is just something to keep in mind while searching for records as the names are not always recorded that way.The last part of the name -vic^ius is often recorded also as -wicz, -witz, etc.
