Regarding the possibility that the town is current day Gargz^dai, Lithuania. The EN ending for "SPESTVEN" makes me believe that it is the Germanized spelling for the place name.

Gargz^dai was just east of the territory occupied by Prussia/Germany which included Memel/Klaipeda.
