Cathy: We just discovered another Liston-Strait marriage in southeastern Ohio with connections to Iowa: Ebenezer Liston married an Amy Strait in 1845 in Athens Cty. Ohio.They had 2 kids, Alfred (or Allen)1846 and Sarah 1847. Amy died in 1848 and Ebenezer remarried Elizabeth Eppley in 1850 in Perry Cty Oh.
Alfred Liston appears to have migrated to Iowa, the page and Mills Cty area in W. Iowa, c. 1870-1880 and was joined around 1884 by 2 half-brothers, Simon and William Liston.
We wonder if Ebenezer and Joseph and John Liston (who also migrated from Perry Cty Oh to Iowa near Joseph) are brothers. Ebenezer's birthdate is either 1812 or 1820;Joseph and John are around 1806 and 1808.Ebenezer who died in Perry Cty Oh in 1879 is my great-grandfather.
