William Lizenby/Lisenby
I have been searching for years trying to connect William Lizenby to the original Henry Lisenby from Queen Annes County who Married Jen Surah. He had 5 sons, which I am sure most of you know who were John, Daniel, Charles, Henry, and Ezekiel.Herein lies the problem, I cannot find enough information on the sons to connect William to this family. He may not be related, but I just feel in my gut that he is either a son or grandson of one of those 5.Here is what I know about William:
He was born about 1763 in Woodford Co, Kentucky or Virginia
He got married to Lucy Thompson on 7/6/1790.I have no idea if she died or what happened, but he got married again in Woodford Kentucky to Sarah Tinder on 4/17/1792. He had 9 children who were all born in Woodford Co., Kentucky according to 1810 and 1820 Kentucky census records. The dates may vary because the first dates belong to my Husband Aunt and I am not sure where she got her data. His children are
Mahala Nancy 1792-1812 who married Jonathan Fleming and she died in Marion Missouri on 4/6/1884
Mary Polly 1795-1797
Jerome A 1775-1799 who married Polly and moved to Scaffold Lick, Blocher, IN, which is actually a part of Scottsburg, Indiana. This is one of my husband's direct relatives and my husband was born in Scottsburg as were his brothers and sisters. Of course it was a little later.
Thomas 1770-1801 who married Susannah Miller
Hosea 1773-1803
Cyrus Pickard 1782 to 1805 according to family search he married Jane Gardner but there were no dates listed
Thirza 1778-1807
Halda or Huldah 1798-1809
Unknown name 1814
At some point William packed up after all his children were born and moved from Kentucky to Indiana to Missouri.I show that he passed away on April 24 1827.There must have been some bickering over the will.
Here is an article I found in Missouri Pioneers 24 Apr to 01 Jul 1833 The will of William Lizenby ofr Woodford Co.,Ky was witnessed by Andrew Combs on 24 Apr 1827, proven 1 Jul 1833.Recorded 16 Aug 1833 Marion Co, MO.(Extracted by Combs researcher Vince Gr4iffin from Missouri Pioneers Vol 1 thru 30 and Volume 1 of Marriage Records of Missouri a companion set to Missouri Pioneers.
Sounds to me like legal mumbo jumbo hasn't changed much!!
Any help will be appreciated.
