I'm answering my own question here:I have acquired a copy of a deed which was signed by Peggy LIPSEY.Peggy is a nickname for Margaret. The citation from the Southern Christian Advocate should read that it was compiled by Brent H. Holcomb, and that the excerpt concerning Margaret (or "Peggy") is from the February 4th 1864 Issue. This deed was signed 24 February 1802--and that adds up to Margaret's being a widow for "about 60 years."The following is excerpted from the deed:"...containing One hundred Acres more of less being and lying in the District of Union on the South side of Broad River which Tract of Land was formerly the property of the Reverend Arthur LIPSEY decsd and sold by [Peggy] to the above named Absalom and Farr POSEY..."This document was written up in Chester Co., though. It intrigues me that the land was in Union Co.Hopefully this is one step closer to understanding the relationship between the LIPSEYs of these two counties.Still there is the question of who Reverend Arthur's father is--I might go so far as to speculate that he could be a brother to Ricketson LIPSEY (of Union Co.), and thus the son of Arthur & Bathsheba (RICKETSON) LIPSEY of Jones Co., NC.We will see.
