Just ran across additional info in my files that I had forgotten about. Sallie Lipscomb, widow of Smith Lipscomb, applied for Confederate Widow's pension on July 12, 1919. Info indicates Smith Lipscomb 15th SC Volunteers, was killed March 16, 1865. They were married Dec. 15, 1858. At the time of application, she was 81 years old and a resident of Gaffney, Cherokee, SC. Smith Lipscomb was an Orderly Sergeant in Company F. It also appears that R. ? (possibly "S") Lipscomb was the Notary Public. This info from www.archivesindex.sc.gov/ConfederatePensionApplications.
