I am looking for information about a Russell W. Lippert who died on 22 Feb 1945 during World War II. He belonged to the US Marine Corps and was a Gunnery Sergeant.
Russell Lippert was awarded the Purple Heart, the Silver Star, and the Bronze Star. He is buried in a military cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Russell Lippert was supposedly married but the name of the wife is unknown. At one point he was living in Montana.
Does any of this information sound familiar? I am hoping someone can assist me in knowing more about this individual. My mother had a cousin named Russell Lippert and I think it might be the same person.
My mother's cousin was born about 1919 in North Dakota. His parents were George Lippert and Mary Lorraine Davidson. He had a brother named George and three sisters named Marian, Mildred, and Kathrine (Kathleen). They are in Stutsman Co., North Dakota in the 1930 US Fed Census.
If you can help me with more information about Russell W. Lippert, please contact me. Your assistance is very much appreciated! I will be able to provide research material about the Davidson genealogy if this is the correct individual.
Thanks very much!
