The Lynchcombe idea is nice but since our name is three syllables it seems to me to be a distraction. Even Thomas signed in as Linscombe, changed it to Lincecombe when he bought property and Linthicum on his tombstone. A Welsh genealogist sent me the name "Walter de Lintekumbe 1280 near Sandford". Sandford is near your Lynchcombe. I have a whole series of three syllable Lin-se/te/cum/comb s from the IGI. Sweetser Linthicum spent money to get a Utah genealogist to search out the Linthicums and he came up with Devon. Hemyock in Devon as a point.
