I am in need of Linthicum/Smoke/Smoak/Smoake/Britt info.
My grtgrdfather was Claud(e) Alexander Britt and married Maggie Louise Smoke/Smoake/Smoak. They lived in NC and had 3 children: Taxi Iretta, James Gaston 'Buster', and Julia Lee. I've been trying to trace down the family Bible but my cousin won't reply. Claudia Squires, if anyone knows her or can get in touch with her would probably have the information; she lives around Randleman. Maggie Louise Smoke's father was Fenner Smoke and mother was Cora Levina 'Mabel' Linthicum. I know that they were Cherokee blood but can't pinpoint the info. PLEASE if anyone has any info on them please let me know.
