According to the early 20th century Linthicum/Linthacum Genealogy, the name Linthicum is from a Welsh word described as the spray of water that flies off a rock when it makes contact in a rushing stream. My former husband has a copy of that book. His late father also did research on the derivitive family name "Linthacum" from Missouri, Montana and points west.
