Dear Sandy,
My Great Grandfather was Harry Lingle, and he married Margaret Bernheisel also from Dauphin County. They had three children:
Ralph, who was killed when struck by a trolley car, Pierre, and Ruth Harriet who was my Grandmother. She married Glenn Esteen Toberman who was born in Fillmore, Illinois
just after WWI. They had four Children:
Glenn Toberman, Jr. deceased
Betty Toberman Buttery Reading, Pa.
Jean Toberman Ciriaco Temple, Pa.
Ralph Owen Toberman Deceased...My Dad

I know from stories that my Grandmother told me that they lived in a beautiful home along the river in Harrisburg, and they had servants, so I assume that they were comfortable. My Great Grandfather was the chief engineer (for lack of a better description)on site in India where he over saw the building of the first iron bridge there...I have the letters he wrote to my Grandmother, and my brothers have his diary and travel receipts. My Grandparents resided in Reading for the majority of their lives.
I am searching for any information on the Lingle and the Berheisel families...births, deaths, marriages, other relatives, war records (Civil, 1812, and Revolution). It was very exciting to find your web site!
