I am a Lingerfelt researcher, and yes I have seen the different spellings as well, on census records especially, We are currently researching for a Jacob Lingerfelt that married a Eliza Cheek, who had children known as: Rebecca-Jeff-Jacob-Issiac-Cordelia-Horace-Walter-Mary-. This was taken from the Census Record for June 21, 1880, of McMinn County, Tn. The Issiac Lingerfelt is my husbands G Grandfather on his Grandmothers side of the Family. His Grandmother was Eva Lou Lingerfelt who married Harvey Rufus Frye. Do you think there is a connection to your line, if so please let me know if you have anything that might help us. J Frye
