This is one of those families that is so large that it causes major confusion.
In the book THE LINGENFELTER'S VOLUME 1 The Early Generations by Patricia Alford, she has this family lineup:
1. Johannes Lingenfelder, born circa 1686 in Steinweiler, Baden, Germany married Anna Catharina KERN on Nov. 25, 1714 in same place. Johannes died on Dec. 31, 1722 in Steinweiler, Baden, Germany. They had a son:
2. Johannes Lingenfelder, born July 29 in Germany (other Lingenfelter sources have this Johannes born July 29, 1718) He married Anna Magdalena Plattner on May 14, 1746 in New Holland, Lancaster Co., PA.They had children:
2A. Johannes Lingenfelder born Oct. 14, 1749 in Lancaster County, PA.
2B. Michael Lingenfelder, no dates given, married a woman by the name of Rebecca.
2C. Daniel Lingenfelder, no birth info but died in 1819 in Lancaster County, PA.
2D. Magdalena Lingenfelder, no data.
Another Lingenfelter family tree that I have in my possession was compiled by Brian Ames of Kent, Ohio based on information done by an earlier Lingenfelter researcher. It has a Johann Lingenfelter born July 29, 1718 in Steinweiler to Johannes and Catherina (KERN) Lingenfelter. He lists a wife named Anna Maria for this Johannes, but he has a totally different lineup of children as follows:
1 Eva Margaret Lingenfelder born 12/26/1753 married Balzer Heck.
2. John Lingenfelter born 5/13/1756
3. Elizabeth Lingenfelter born 9/11/1759
4. Elizabeth Lingenfelter born 9/9/1759 married to John Cannon.
5. Michael Lingenfelter born 11/29/1762 married to Margaret DONN.
Obviously something is very wrong here, and caution should be used before using any of this info. I will continue to look through the books that I have to see if something pops out at me.I will let you know if I find anything.
