SIMON LINDER DIGITAL ARCHIVE
PROJECT

I would like to compile a digital library of scanned and transcribed documents relating to the Simon Linder family which could then be made available to other Linder researchers in the way of a CD. Since it would be virtually impossible (with my limited time and resources) to compile a comprehensive document library on all of Simon Linderís lines up to the present, I would initially like to concentrate on documenting the first two generations of the Simon Linder family. This would include Simon Linder, Jr., Lawrence Linder and John George Linder and all of their children. I would also like to include any documentation on Simon Linder's two Daughters Catrina and Elizabeth but not their children (at this time). I myself am descended from Simon Linder through his son John George and then through his son John.
If you would like to contribute to this project, here is how: If you have copies of old documents, etc. relating to your Linder lines up to the grandchildren of Simon Linder, please provide me with copies. Source documents can include land deeds, grants, plats, wills, court documents, military pension applications, etc. It might also include references to your ancestors in various old books, histories, etc. Also please be sure to include as much detailed information as possible as to the source of your document. For state and county documents please included the government office you got it from and how was it cataloged (i.e. deed, court or will book number, page number, etc.) Although I will accept photocopies of your documents, it will take time for me to scan and transcribe these for inclusion in the Simon Linder Digital Archive. Ideally, I would like to receive copies of your documentation all ready scanned and transcribed. Scans should be in JPEG format with at least a 300 dpi resolution. Transcriptions would be best in Microsoft Word format but most any type of text file will be acceptable. I would like to have both images of the original documents as well as the transcriptions as they will eventually be combined into a single PDF file.
Please send your digital images and transcriptions to: tdlinder@alltel.net. To send your photocopied material by snail-mail, please e-mail for my address. You may also help by volunteering to transcribe documents not yet transcribed. Please help with this project so that future Linder researchers can benefit from the efforts of those who came before.
