I am looking for two brothers of a Johan August Andersson born May 1855 or May 1856 in Sweden. Johan changed his name to August John Landeen in the USA. His two brothers also changed their names but not to Landeen. One may have changed his to Lindberg the other to Hedin. We have no proof of these names.I do not know the first names but they were from a family of 8 or 9 in Sweden.
August had relatives in PA as a grandson visited them probably before 1960. No one in the family knows where they came from in Sweden.August's death cerificate in 1931 said that his father's name was Nels amd Mother's Margaretta but we have no proof of this.
August was a carpenter and married Charlotta Susanna Anderson on Mar. 7, 1889 in San Diego. They lived in Salt Lake City,Portland and a farm near Oregon City, Oregon. He was supposed to have come to the USA between 1876 -1879 according to 3 US cenuses.
I do not know much Swedish but if you wish to send me a copy of the letter you mention I can see if my Swedish teacher will translate it for you.
