Lincks from Mecklenburg

My ancestor Karl Linck came from Mecklenburg-Schwerin to Columbus, WI ca. 1850. The name appears with or without the "c". A Linck family history in the SLC Family History center gives one of the earliest Lin(c)ks in Germany as being from Friesland.
(northern Holland). That Lin(c)k came down to the area of Bad Wimpfen, Germany in the 1200's (Alsace Lorraine area) and married there. My familiy's connection to him is unknown.
