Dear B Linam Alexander,
The "great grandfather" you talk about may be John Hodges Linam, b. 1787 in Union Co. SC, who eventually settled in Lawrence County, TN. (See the other posts on this message board). What is your "Sir William Linam" evidence? Many of us have been trying to trace the origins of John Hodges Linam's father George (b. 1745/46, Union Co. SC, d. 1815). Some leads show him born in New Castle, Delaware to Thomas Linam (?) and Sarah Buford/Beuford (?), but I would be curious to know what info you have. I can tell you what I know of John. Hodges Linam, which isn't much of substance (research continuing). Regards, Justin.
