Matilda Pearce, wife of Gideon Liles

I'm hoping someone knows about the family of Matilda Pearce, who married Gideon Liles, son of Kinchen and Penelope Strickland Liles. I'm descended from the Liles family through James W., son of Wrightman and Nancy Jordan Liles, whose daughter Alice was the second wife of John Ruffin Pearce and my great-grandmother. I'm interested in Matilda because I'm wondering if her Pearce family might have some connection to mine - I can't get any further back than John Ruffin's father, Gibson Pearce, in Wake Co., NC (he's not related to the main Pearce family of Wake/Franklin per DNA testing).
The little bit I have is this: Matilda and Gideon had a daughter named Fetney who lived with Woodson and Rixy Pearce Carpenter in Wake Co. in 1860. Woodson Carpenter was bondsman for the marriage of one of Gibson Pearce's daughters in 1854. Woodson Carpenter wound up in the State Hospital in 1870, and that year Rixy Pearce Carpenter lived with James W. Pearce (name horribly butchered in ancestry's index) in Johnston Co. James had lived alone as a young man in Wake Co. in 1840. Seemed to me that Matilda, James, and Rixy, who were all born between 1810 and 1820, could be siblings and could possibly have some family connection to Gibson Pearce. So, my question is - Does anyone know anything about Matilda's family?
