I am married to Ron Liles, son of Clemit Wallace Liles from Mena, Ar. His father was George Alfred Liles. George's father was Lenard Liles, the third son of George and Salina W. Liles.
I , too, am looking for the parents of the original George. I recently read in a history book of Mena and Polk Co. that George was an Irishman. I know he and Salina got married in either Ga. or SC. He supposedly came to Mena in 1860 at the age of 19.
We live in Ft. Worth, Tx. but my husband's only brother, C. Wallace Liles, Jr. is an optometrist in Mena.
We lost Papaw Liles in June of 06, his wife Bernice Mourton Liles on Dec. 30th of 07.
So, you and my hubby are distant cousins!!
