Although I am not familiar with intermarraige in every Liles line, in my own line (John d. 1790 Chester SC, Samuel b. 1779 Chester SC , William b. 1803 Chester SC, John J. b. 1843 Maury Co Tn)there was no known Indian until John J. married Sarah Holden Liles (b 1843 Tn) who was either 1/2 or 1/4 Cherokee thought to be from her mother, Sarah Webb Holden's line.
