Wow, that's a lot of info to put in, but worth it, Shellie. Nice to make your acquaintance.

i was following my dad's advice on checking the Dawes Roll to see if the Liles name had Native Blood. It does not. It is through the Curry Family, but have yet to figure out how it works into our Liles genealogy.

I'll keep working on that and see what I can find. What I find interesting even though George Washington Liles' predecessors came from SC and TN, that it should stand because they lived in Marion Cty, AR for a bit, that there was surely Cherokee blood in the Liles family. Wikipedia.com says about the Cherokee moving west, "Most were forcibly moved westward to the Ozark Plateau."

So, either the Liles family didn't register as Cherokee, or were not. It's hard to say. I may have to ask my distant Price cousin for help again on that. Will keep in touch with you on that.
