Hello there,
I do not know how much I can help you, but it appears we may be distant cousins, as on my genealogy that I received from my mother I have many Liles/Lyles relatives from Maury Cty, TN in the early to mid 1800's. One of the being George Washington Liles born sometime between 1850 &1860. Some of my infomation is a little different from yours, but the places and times add up, I have J.W. Liles parents as possibly being Samuel Liles b. Circa 1779 in SC. Died intestate 1866 Maury Co., TN. He left an estate of six thousand dollars which was executed by Thomas M. Kittrell. Also mentioned in the settlement was Thomas Farris & Robert Kittrell as his securities.
Samuel was married to Betsy (Becky). Their children were: J.William, Elizabeth, Manus W. Seek info regarding Samuel - including his parents. (I do not know what that last statement means, sorry) Hope this helps, and good luck. My mom (which is a Liles) has always told me that we had Indian blood in us, but she said it was Choctaw, who knows?
