I thought I posted this once, but I guess I didn't, so here goes. William McElwee I, was born in County Tyronne, Ireland and buried in the Old Presbyterian Cemetery of Londonerry, North Ireland. The 1790 census start showing the McElwee families here at that time. Charles McElwee with 5 children listed in Franklin County, Pa. They were John and Henry who both married and moved to Missouri, the others were Mary, Elizabeth and David. William and David emigrated to America in 1750 at Phil, Pa. (more likely Camden, NJ) In 1790 David was in York County, Pa. James McElwee with 6 children in Abbeville District, SC. William McElwee in Clarks Ford, York County, SC. In 1790 John McElwee was in Abbeville, SC. I'm still trying to find the parents of George McElwee, born in 1801 in Virginia and married to Elizabeth Dunlap. I figure that maybe one of these men might be his father or his grandfather. I could sure use some help from anyone who can help me find out. Otherwise I'm at a dead end. Thank You Karen i
