Claudia:

There is a 943 page book on the Ligon Family titled: "Ligon Family and Connections" by William D. Ligon, Jr. The book was published in 1947 and is now out of print. I have a copy of this book and I would be glad to try to help you with additional information. If you will tell me exactly what you want and provide me with your E-Mail address I will look it up and send it to you. This book carries the Ligon Family back into England where the surname was spelled Lygon. Col Thomas Lygon/Ligon came to this country in 1640 at the age of 15 years with his cousin William Sir Lord Berkeley the Royal Governor of Virginia. He married Mary Harris and they had a family of 7 children. In light of his close association with the Royal Governor he was made the Royal Surveyor of Henrico Co., VA and given the rank of Colonel in the British Army.
