Hey David!

Can't help you on your post, but your names of LIGHTSEY and CANADY are ones that you might find some information on in Chatham County. I was born and raised in Savannah and my great-grandmother was Josephine Elizabeth LIGHTSEY, daughter of Isaac LIGHTSEY and Susan BARBER. Josephine married my great-grandfather Robert CARTER on 09-05-1875 in Chatham County and they settled in Savannah. My search is for Robert since we have no clues as to where he came from, his siblings, or parents. Marty Morgan (who does some research in Chatham) found that he had a brother named Ben, but that's all we have. We know he was murdered by Shedrick DICKERSON in March 1921, and have the newspaper article on that.

Anyway, just saw your name and thought I'd drop you a line on the names and Chatham County. Also, try the GA-CEMETERIES list server also, in case you aren't on that one.
