Hi,
My grandmother, Leona Lightfoot, always said we were English/Scottish (her mother was a Cannon, she thought from Scotland). I have found the same information about the name meaning the ancester was a messenger (he that was light of foot).
Do you have any idea who William T Lightfoot's parents were?
